If you’re looking for an iphone 4 slim case then stop looking. This is it. The case itself is very slim and low profile for that snug bareback like feel, yet the smooth hard rubber back and sides allows for excellent handling. It’s also great for tight jeans and clothing, I can now insert and fish out my iphone 4 without a hitch. Unfortunately this case is not going to provide much protection against a hard drop at waist level but that isn’t the point. You can buy other bulky and unwieldy cases for that. Think of this case as the rubber coating that Apple, in their hubris and arrogance, omitted to ship with every iphone 4. It even comes with a decent screen protector, hence for the price this combo can’t be beat. My only regret is not ordering this case before AT&T and Apple bent me over and raped with their lousy $30 bumpers and $20 screen protectors.

I got this screen protector for my new iPhone 4 a few days ago and couldn’t wait to install it. What a waste of money! First of all, it’s NOT anti-glare (and this feature was the ONLY reason I bought this product from Empire), it’s all shiny like a mirror. And the size is not quite right, I have good experinece installing iPhone screen protectors, so this one was a little bit larger than the iPhone screen, hence the bubbles. A LOT of them, especially at the edges. And considering I had troubles fitting my iPhone into Empire’s silicone case, it peeled off the screen protector immediately! Don’t waste you time on this product especially if the anti-glare feature is a deal breaker for you.

This case is just what I was looking for. It’s very similar to the Cozip case I used with my original iPhone. It seems to provide some decent protection for the phone and allows me to get a better grip on the slippery bugger. I was worried that the “stilts” might be something goofy, but there really are no stilts. The front of the case simply has a lip which is slightly higher than the glass on the iPhone. It looks nice and elegant. I have been experiencing the reception problem when cradling the phone in my left hand. This case helped a bit with that. My bars still go from 5 down to 1, but I no longer lose the connection and the 3G data transmissions don’t grind to a halt any more. I think a thicker case (like the Apple bumper) would be more successful in maintaining the signal. Note that the “photo” shown is not quite accurate. It’s more likely an artist’s rendition. The edges are not as rounded as shown and the volume buttons are not visible from the back.

OK, so the product isn’t specifically rated for the i-Pod Touch 3rd generation but I figured how different could it be right? Well it works fine but with a minor issue. The supplied audio patch cable isn’t long enough to reach from the top left of the adapter to the bottom right headphone jack on the 3rd gen. A longer cable by about 2-3 inches would fixed this issue, lucky for me I had one already. Other than that the unit works as described, plug it into your lighter jack and clamp your i-pod in place. Plug in the power at the bottom along with the head phone connection and your good to go. Sound quality is about the same as other FM tuners I’ve used which is really nothing special but if you don’t have an Aux. jack on your deck what other option do you have? Another minor issue is if your i-Pod has a rubber protective sleeve. Mine does and the clamp on this unit will not open wide enough to hold the i-Pod with the sleeve on. You have two options here, remove the sleeve from the i-Pod (pain to do), or do what I did, remove the rubber pads from the units clamps. Removing them allows me to keep my i-Pod in the sleeve and the clamps still hold well because the rubber sleeve adds traction. Just be sure to save the pads so you can glue them back on for another device in the future.

I love this product! It is very easy to use, and it makes listening to music/talking on the phone much easier in the car. The ‘snake arm’ adjusts to fit the power outlet in my car, and there is a tilt ability for the actual holder. This fits my iPhone 3G with a thick case on. It can also adjust smaller than that for a regular iPod. The sound quality is near perfect – you just have to turn up the radio a little higher than normal. The FM transmitter adjusts to any FM channel. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. This isn’t a name brand product, but I would consider it comparable to one. I’ve been looking to buy one for a little while now, and have seen them going for $70 and up. This is a steal at $22!

This is my second Speck Candyshell case and that is only because I am a phone dropper. Not just a drop here or there, but constant falls onto concrete, asphault. . . you name it. I even dropped my phone in a fast food lane as my spouse and I changed driving and I left it there in the snow for 45 minutes until I discovered it was missing. I drove back and it was still sitting there on the snowy asphault, slight scrape on the screen protector but no other damage! I estimate my first candyshell survived no less than 7 drops of 3 feet or more onto hard surfaces. The final drop finally broke the thinnest part of the case, near the charging port, but it is still perfectly usable. More importantly, my iPhone 3GS still is as pristine as the day I bought it. No case rubs or scuffs, nothing. I do recommend using a good screen protector in combination with any case you buy though as evidenced by my fast food lane debacle. Anyone not familiar with the Candyshell, it is a hard plastic exterior with a soft rubber lined interior and matching rubber accents and button covers. It is close to indestructible but only adds a slight heft to your phone. I own a bunch of the tough cases such as the Incipio, but nothing beats a Candyshell for form and function in my opinion.

Recently got the case, and, although i do not have my iPhone 4G yet, just thought I’d give a preliminary review. There is a minor “new product” smell, but not as bad as I’ve read about other cases. Also, don’t know what real leather is supposed to feel like, but I love the smooth way this case feels. The clip is tough to easily maneuver onto a belt/waistband, but it’s very secure, so you won’t have to worry about it falling off, and might be easier with use over time. I put in the TPU case I purchased separately (sans phone), and I don’t think it works well with the smoothness of the leather. Maybe it’s best for people who have the thin hard shell/multipiece covers, but we’ll see. In any case, this is a plus, because even though it doesn’t state it, the iPhone 4G WILL fit, even with a case on it. That, plus the ease of use cover, makes this a great case for busy professional iPhone users. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase, especially with the price. Can’t wait to test it out with my new phone.

This case is awesome! I often have a rather large rubber protective case around my iPhone. I work in a professional environment where I cannot be sliding a phone in and out of my shirt pocket or pants pocket. This case looks professional, allowing me to keep the iphone on my belt to use as needed, plus I can keep my protective case around it! Very secure case – I will be ordering more to have extra on hand and for friends!

I was pleased with this product as soon as my daughter put it on her Iphone, but I knew it was a great product when in an emotional moment, she flung it across our concrete driveway, sending it cartwheeling into the flower bed on the other side! I just knew the screen would be cracked or the case would fly off. She does have a screen protector, but there also was not a scratch on the case either! This was money well spent.

Let me start by saying that anyone who posts a negative review couldn’t possibly do so because of the product, which is what Amazon reviews are supposed to be based on. The product ordered is exactly what is described in the listing – a replacement glass and digitizer for an iPhone 3G. It is of equal quality to the original, and may even be the actual OEM part. It is just as responsive as the original iPhone screen. That’s it. Case closed. Installation is borderline difficult, but anyone who’s ever taken apart something electronic can handle it. There are numerous tutorials and YouTube videos describing the process, and if you take your time and BE CAREFUL it is not hard at all. You just have to be precise in your actions. The most difficult part for me was getting all of the broken glass off of the frame and scraping away the old adhesive. But once that was done, the new glass layed right into place and the new adhesive stuck to the frame instantly and has shown no signs of lifting so far. Overall, I highly recommend this product as a cheaper alternative to the $199 Apple replacement. You get to keep your phone instead of getting a refurbished one and you won’t lose any data in the process. And if you take your time, the installation is easy. Or you can pay me to do it if you want!
